Today I am sharing  an entire session of a gorgeous New Braunfels Family Session! This was a mini session that lasted just 20 minutes and we were able to get some gorgeous images!

My goal for family sessions is always to get portraits that not only tell your story and capture your bond, but that do so in a way that is worthy of printing.
I always aim to give my clients memorable photos that document the beauty in their lives with print worthy photos.

Can we talk wardrobe? Lets!
It can be a challenge to pull off a seamless look for a large family without everyone looking “matchy.” I know because I have a family of 5 of my own and dressing for our family sessions is never a simple task but it’s always SOO much fun to see how it pulls together!

This family came dressed to impress and I was swooning over their wardrobe choices!

Little Jet was such a cute dude with his little blazer that matched his dad’s. Baby Savannah was adorable in her sweet dress with a darling bird patter and simple blue jean shoes to match her dad and siblings.
This is what photographer wardrobe dreams are made of! Mama styled everyone on her own so I can’t take any credit 😉 She did amazing!

A Few Tips for styling your family:

  • Chose 1 -2 base colors to build upon. In this family’s case their color is blue – like dad’s blazer.  Find a piece that is your must have and build off of that. For me I usually find my own outfit and build off of that, because I am the hardest to dress!
  • When you’re selecting the family’s options don’t feel like you need to choose everything solid blue, find items that fit their personality but that might have just a touch of the base color, or that will complement it nicely. Like pink in this instance, I love big sister’s floral two piece outfit, it has just the right amount of blue in it while breaking up the pallet.
  • Don’t be afraid of mixing patterns! If you notice moms dress, baby’s dress and big sister’s out all have a different pattern and because they are soft and elegant they flow together nicely.
  • My last tip is to not skimp on the details! Nails, shoes, socks, hair and make up all my a huge difference when getting your photographs done. You’ve invested in a wonderful photographer already right, so finish it out with those little details and the session will come together and look professionally styled!
